Our Newest Addition
After a relatively easy delivery, we welcomed James Shepherd "Shep" into our lives on August 18, 2008. He weighed in at 8lbs. 7oz. and was 20.5 in. We are home and doing well. Rowan and Holland love being his big brother and big sister and argue over who will do what to help out. We couldn't be more blessed! Yes, we are tired, but we are so in love with our little Shep and are soaking him in and embracing him into our family. We are thankful for all the wonderful support of family and friends, for all the visits in the hospital, for all the phone calls, for all the meals to come. I'm not sure what we'd do without all of you! An extra huge special thanks to mom and dad who have helped out so much already-you moved just in time!
Today we did the meet and greet for Rowan and Holland's teachers. We visited their classrooms, met the other children and famlies and got familiar with surroundings. School starts on Monday for Rowan and Tuesday for Holland. Please keep us in your prayers as we adjust to yet another schedule!
Enjoy the pictures!

Rowan's First Amusement Park
I know you all think I'm crazy, but 2 weeks ago I took Rowan, along with 2 other mama's and their boys, to an amusement park. It is called Carowinds and is situated right on the border of NC and SC near Charlotte. My sweet friends pushed me around in a wheelchair as I would have never made it through the day walking around at 36 weeks pregnant in the heat! The boys had a blast and I can tell that it will become a tradition to take them each year. We left the little ones at home with a babysitter, which worked out perfectly. The other incredible part of this amusement park is that it has a water park attached to it with water slides, all kinds of shooting water play areas and so forth-perfect for the heat of the south. It was great to spend some time with just Rowan and not have Holland competing for attention. Great memories!
