My kids are GOOD eaters. You'd never know it by how they look, but it's true. Rowan has always been a champ at trying new things and frequently eats things like shrimp, arugula salad, turns down chocolate cake a birthday parties and such. Holland has followed closely in his footsteps, but since she's been sick so much, her appetite ebbs and flows in rather extremes. For instance, for days she'll eat little more than goldfish and drink at a meal, but when she's hungry, LOOK OUT. I made the mistake of taking her to the grocery store with me where she screamed at the top of her lungs "mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy" while signing "more, more more more more" continuously. I clearly underestimated her hunger on this particular day. When we got home she went tearing through the grocery bags scrounging for food. I captured a few pictures before I finally found something to feed to her.

As you've probably noticed, I've been on a serious break from blogging. Mostly it's becuase the children have been sick off and on and with the weather being as cold as it's been, we hadn't left the house all that much. Right now Holland has a double ear infection, Rowan and I are trying to kick the remains of a stomach virus and John is down for the count in the bed with the same stomach bug. It was a long night and has been a rough day.
Rowan has been busy at school learning about Valentine's Day, the presidents, and has moved on to things like visiting the doctor, dentist, etc. He has a new buddy named Evan that he's been spending some playdates with. Holland is just as busy as a bee trying more and more to talk. Her words are very jumbled and mumbled-her Chinese is very good! The poor thing hasn't gained any weight since her 12 month check-up due to all her sickness. I take her next week for her 15 month.
John is still contemplating what a career change will entail and when. He has set a goal to have a new job by the end of 2007. We've had more setbacks than we would like in this area, but we remain optimistic that he will find the right thing at the right time. We've been learning a lot about patience these days!
