Girly girly

I wish I could remember every very girly thing that Holland does. She can be SOOOO very girly. It is interesting to me that she can feel just as comfortable clunking around in my high heels as she is in dirt. She is not partial, but I can see the girly starting to really come out. She is slightly obsessed with shoes and clothing, constantly wanting to change her outfit for a new look throughout the day. She often demands to wear a dress for the day despite what the weather or activities may be. There have been many embarassing times when we have had playdates where she has emerged from a friend's room wearing her (or in some cases his) clothing in lieu of her own. Yikes! For Valentine's Day she received a very adorable book called Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy by Jane O'Connor and fabulous illustrations by Robin Preiss Glasser. They have a series of books about this character Fancy Nancy-and quite a character she is. If you have little ladies in your life, I highly recommend these books as all girls seem to enjoy "fancy". Tonight Holland insisted on reading her Fancy Nancy book while also wearing her Tinkerbell dress. She simply HAD to be fancy.

Spring is in the air

Quite literally-spring (or shall I say pollen) is in the air. You know when the weather goes from sunny and 80 degrees to raining and 50 degrees that it is indeed spring. We are loving the time outside despite the pollen. The rain is hopefully taking care of the majority of it. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, I've provided an image of what a small amount of pollen on the ground looks like. Now, imagine that same pollen dust EVERYWHERE-coating your car, your windows, your outdoor furniture, grill, poofing up from the grass and pinestraw in yellow clouds that could suffocate a small animal. Nature truly is amazing. But in order to enjoy the outdoors this time of year, you just have to get by with the sneezing, wheezing, and runny noses. It's worth it!
