Antler Hunting
If you're like me, you don't pay much attention to hunting or the various and incredibly confusing hunting seasons. But apparantly this is the time of year that deer shed their antlers (those that have survived the hunting season, that is). John has always been into bird hunting, but has never really shown much interest in larger animals. Fine with me-besides it requires a different gun and one is enough for me. I don't have a problem with hunting at all. I just don't "get" the sport of it. Probably similar to how John doesn't "get" how I absolutely HAVE to paint our fireplace and replace the mantel.
Okay, back on topic. Some friends of ours have large amounts of land and invited John and Rowan 2 Sunday's ago to go antler hunting. Rowan was so thrilled that he wouldn't have to take a rest that day and I was thrilled that this particular hunting didn't actually involve a gun. Off they went for the afternoon, and when they returned Rowan was in his glory. He went on and on how he rode on Mr. D's ranger (small jeep like vehicle) going fast over bumps and through creeks and so forth. John said he and P squealed with delight the entire time. AND they even found one antler. So exciting!

Hey! That is one big deer antler.
I love Rowan's haircut.
I bet those boys were so over-the-top excited!
Rowan, that was some deer antler. I know you had a terrific time hunting for the antler. You are getting a big boy.
Papa and I will see you at Easter.
Give Sissy a hug.
