12 Weeks and a little more

That's right, 12 weeks pregnant and counting! The Barnes family is excited to be welcoming a new baby into our family in late August. We've been to the doctor and heard that precious heartbeat thumping away. Rowan and Holland are both eager and ask frequently about the baby in my belly even though there's little evidence anything is there. Back in the spring Rowan had asked us when we were going to have another baby and my answer was, "well, if you want another baby, you need to ask God to give us one." He seemed satisfied with that and so was I. When we told him the news, he was so excited and exclaimed, "I knew God would answer my prayers, I knew it!" So sweet.

"They" say that at 12 weeks your morning sickness goes away. I have proven this theory wrong again in my 3rd pregnancy. Each morning I awake and wonder if this is the day it will magically disappear. Nope. Things had seeminly taken a turn for the better I should mention, until I came down with the flu. Viscious. I felt like I had been in a massive car collision for 5 days straight. I saw little else besides my bed and the couch. John had it at the same time, which made for interesting parenting. Rowan came down with it several days later, but we were able to get Tamiflu in him, which is remarkable in its ability to stomp the virus. John's parents came to our rescue for the weekend and got poor Holland out of the house while the rest of us groaned and slept.

In all of this I realized I hadn't yet posted on our exciting news and had meant to last week. Ha Ha Ha! We are so blessed and thrilled to expand our family. Hopefully this "morning" sickness will subside soon. Oh, and for those of you wondering-NO, we will not find out the gender this time again. We had such a great time with the delivery last time and enjoyed calling our loved ones with our exciting news, so we plan to do it that way again!
